Batucada Sound Machine are a dynamic 10-piece group who have captivated audiences at festivals around the world with their breathtaking variety of tempos, timings, beats, styles and raw on-stage energy.

The band’s three-piece samba/reggae percussion line-up and all star horn section intertwine Brazilian, funk, hip-hop, reggae, afro-beat and Pacific soul influences.

Blazing a trail in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the band’s breathtaking variety of tempos, timings, beats, styles and raw on-stage energy draws comparisons to Ozomatli and Manu Chao.

Their debut album “Rhythm And Rhyme” (2007) was produced by renowned music creator Neil Sparkes and mixed at the legendary Avatar Studios. “Rhythm And Rhyme” (available on iTunes) climbed to the top of the Independent NZ Music charts. Batucada Sound Machine are working on their third album and will showcase their new material while on tour in Europe, the album will be released in late 2011.
